Axpo and EDF Renewables Hellas have signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for electricity from two solar power plants in the Viotia region of Greece.
Built in 2023, the two EDF Renewables’ power plants, Skala Korinis and Loutsa, have an installed capacity of 102MW.
Under the short-term agreement, Axpo will buy the entire combined output from the plants.
Axpo Greece managing director Vasilis Machias said: “This agreement reinforces Axpo’s ability to provide innovative and tailored renewable energy solutions across central and south-eastern Europe.
“By leveraging our expertise as an international market leader in renewables, wholesale trading and risk management, we’re further optimising our portfolio in the region, while also supporting the energy transition.”
EDF Renewables Hellas chief executive Antonis Xenios said: “We are thrilled about our partnership with Axpo and the opportunities it presents.
“This collaboration reinforces EDF Renewables’ dedication to maximise the potential of renewable energy and accelerate the energy transition, contributing to the decarbonisation of the Greek economy.”
