TotalEnergies has inaugurated its largest solar power plant in Europe, near Seville, Spain.
The plant is composed of five projects with a total installed capacity of 263MW.
The majority of the electricity generated will be sold through long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) and the rest will be sold on the wholesale market.
Declared of Strategic Interest by the Junta de Andalucia, the installation of the 400,000 bifacial solar panels with trackers has provided significant support to the local economy, involving 14 companies, more than half of which are Sevillian, and generating 800 direct and indirect jobs.
