Island Green Power has launched a second phase of consultation on its proposed East Pye Solar project in South Norfolk.
The developer is seeking feedback on updated plans for a utility-scale solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) on land near Long Stratton.
The seven-week consultation begins today and will close on 6 August 2025.
It follows an initial consultation held from October to December last year.
In that first phase, Island Green Power outlined its preliminary study area for the solar development and broad cable route corridors to connect the project to the national grid.
The latest proposals incorporate findings from environmental studies and public feedback.
Samantha Jones, project development manager at Island Green Power, said: “Following our initial consultation and as part of our ongoing commitment to sensitive design and responding to people’s feedback, we have refined our proposals in several ways.”
These include reallocating land for mitigation, reducing the cable corridor, and excluding solar development from some sites to enhance ecological value.
The revised scheme now includes green corridors, hedgerow strengthening, and buffer zones around sensitive areas, residential properties and heritage sites.
Jones said: “We’re committed to delivering a scheme that makes a meaningful contribution to both local and national energy needs.”
More than 8,400 households and businesses have been notified about the consultation, and Island Green Power is encouraging residents to provide feedback.
