Low Carbon has energised four UK solar projects totalling 129MW, marking a major milestone in its rollout of clean energy infrastructure.
The portfolio includes Feldon Vale (49.9MW) in Warwickshire, Pepperhill (21MW) in Shropshire, and two Essex sites—Long Meadow (19MW) and Birch (39MW), the latter of which includes a 30MW co-located battery energy storage system.
Low Carbon said the assets will produce enough electricity to power 39,000 homes and displace 40,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually.
Founder and chief executive Roy Bedlow said: “We are pleased to see continued progress across our UK renewables pipeline with these latest projects now connected to the electricity network, underscoring our growth as a next generation IPP.”
He added: “Solar power and co-located battery storage is playing an increasingly important role in meeting our energy demands and providing critical flexibility to the grid.”
The energisation coincides with record solar output in the UK, driven by recent sunny weather, and adds momentum to the government’s Clean Power 2030 ambition.
Low Carbon now has more than 1GW of renewable capacity in operation and construction, with over 400MW of additional projects scheduled to begin construction within 18 months.
The projects are supported by a mix of corporate PPAs and Contracts for Difference.
