British Solar Renewables has secured a £345m debt facility to fund a 609MW portfolio of solar and co-located battery energy storage projects in the UK.
The financing covers 12 greenfield and operational projects that will deliver 600GWh of electricity annually, enough to power 160,000 homes and cut CO₂ emissions by 140,000 tonnes.
Lenders include Lloyds, Commonwealth Bank, LBBW and NatWest, with Lloyds acting as sole structuring bank.
“This financing highlights the strength of our collocation strategy and our innovative approach to delivering clean, reliable power at scale,” said British Solar Renewables chief investment officer Michael Ozersky.
The deal marks one of the largest UK hybrid renewable financings to date and includes restructuring of BSR’s existing senior facility.
BSR, backed by ICG since 2022, said the package will support its growth as a major integrated power producer in the UK.
“This financing not only underscores the strength and credibility of BSR… but also highlights our shared commitment to delivering high-impact projects,” said Paul Levêque, associate director at ICG Infrastructure.
The 12 projects will contribute to UK net zero targets and the transition to a clean energy system, BSR said.
Lloyds managing director Tony Hable said the deal was “a powerful validation” of BSR’s ability to deliver at scale.
