The Boring Company (TBC) released a photo showing Prufrock 3 lined up to launch at Tesla Giga Texas. TBC has been preparing for this moment for several weeks. Since mid-January, TBC has been diligently assembling Prufrock 3 near Giga Texas. Unlike traditional tunnel boring machines (TBMs) that require deep launch pits, Prufrock can porpoise, allowing it to launch directly from the surface, burrow underground, and emerge at the tunnel’s end. By porpoising, Prufrock streamlines the excavation process. Drone operator Joe Tegtmeyer, along with a team of experts in the tunneling field and other YouTubers closely following TBC’s projects, came up with…

Germany’s latest ground-mounted solar tender has been oversubscribed attracting over 4708MW of bids for an awarded volume of 2150MW. Germany’s Federal Network Agency has awarded 242 bids with a volume of 2150MW in its latest tender, which had a deadline of 1 December 2024. The auction attracted 524 bids for a total volume of 4708MW.   “The bid volume received in the ground-mounted tender once again significantly exceeds the tender volume. “The persistently high level of competition is causing a further reduction in the award values. “The funding requirement for new ground-mounted systems will thus fall even further,” said…

Following a successful search for the fastest pod during SpaceX’s second Hyperloop Competition, the Elon Musk-founded space exploration company has released rules for its third competition, which will require that each competing pod propel itself. Competition II saw both WARR Hyperloop and SpaceX and Tesla’s own pusher-pod break the top speed records for vacuum trains, respectively reaching 202 mph and 220 mph during runs in the Test Loop. Elon Musk has since suggested that the Tesla-built pusher pod could reach speeds of 300 mph or greater with some small modifications. Similar to Competition II, the next competition slated for mid-2018…

Tesla is revamping its vinyl wrap service with better pricing just a few months after quietly discontinuing what it previously offered. In September, Tesla eliminated 80 percent of its in-house wrap options for the Cybertruck in a move that seemed to limit available colors to the most popular. On Friday, December 13, Tesla launched a new vinyl wrap service for the Cybertruck, as well as the Model 3 and Model Y, pricing the new service at between $4,000 and $4,500. Tesla writes on its website: “Customize your Tesla with a vinyl wrap. Available in a variety of colors, textures and…
