Goldbeck Solar has broken ground on the 48MWp Perrinpit Road Solar Farm in Bristol, a project being developed in collaboration with Octopus Energy Generation.
The solar farm, Goldbeck’s fourth largest since re-entering the UK market in 2022, will power over 12,900 households with clean energy and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 6096 tonnes annually.
The company said sustainability and biodiversity protection are key elements of the project. During the construction phase, Goldbeck Solar has pledged to take special measures to minimise environmental impact, including adapting schedules to avoid disruption during bird breeding seasons.
In addition, extensive landscaping measures are planned upon project completion, including the seeding of green areas and the planting of new trees to restore the natural habitat.
Chief operating officer of Goldbeck Solar Tobias Schüßler said: “With the Perrinpit Road solar farm, we demonstrate that sustainable energy production and environmental protection can go hand in hand.
“Despite the complex geographical conditions, our approach is based on careful planning and innovative solutions to ensure successful implementation.
“At the same time, we place great emphasis on protecting nature and restoring the local environment.
“This way, with the 48MWp Perrinpit solar park, we are not only creating a sustainable energy source but also contributing to enhance the local biodiversity.”
The project is scheduled for completion in April 2026.
