Limes Renewable Energy (Limes) has completed the sale of a 287MW Italian portfolio of solar PV and wind projects to an unnamed international IPP with presence in the country.
With a total portfolio of 6GW in development, Limes continues to expand its global presence, with a strong track record in Italy and Chile, the developer said.
To date, Limes has successfully seen 17 projects (for 275MW) through to a ready-to-build stage, globally, and over the next 12 months it expects an additional 100-150MW of new projects to reach this stage, further solidifying the company’s commitment to accelerating the energy transition.
The portfolio sold is split equally between solar PV and wind projects, with 50MWp of solar PV projects already authorised.
Under the terms of the transaction, Limes will continue to provide development support until the projects reach the ready-to-build stage, further advising the international investor during the final permitting phase.
Once fully operational, the portfolio is expected to generate approximately 669GWh/year, significantly contributing to Italy’s renewable energy transition.
Cristiano Spillati (pictured), managing director of Limes, said: “This transaction marks a pivotal moment for Limes, reaffirming our ability to identify opportunities, develop and deliver high-quality renewable energy assets at scale.
“The sale of this portfolio to an international IPP investing in Italy, underscores the strength of our pipeline and our commitment to accelerating the energy transition in the country.
“With our proven expertise in solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems we remain focused on delivering best-in-class projects that drive sustainable growth.
“We are honoured that Limes continues to attract international investors of this calibre and is recognised as a trusted partner in bringing projects ready for construction”.
