OX2 has powered up the 100MW Rutki solar farm in Poland, its first project as an independent power producer.
The solar farm (pictured) has started delivering electricity to the grid and is expected to generate around 108GWh of electricity per year.
OX2 said the milestone marks a new chapter in its strategic commitment to developing, owning and operating renewable energy assets.
The Rutki project spans over 78 hectares and benefits from a 15-year Contract for Difference (CfD) secured through the Polish Energy Regulatory Office.
OX2 chief executive Paul Stormoen said: “Poland is one of OX2’s key markets globally, and the Rutki project is our first step as an IPP.
“We are proud to be delivering this project in a country with such immense renewable potential. For years, OX2 has been a committed driver of Europe’s energy transition and now, in Poland, we are reinforcing our long-term commitment to energy security and climate neutrality.”
OX2 said the Rutki project also reflects the company’s dedication to sustainable development and community engagement. As part of the investment, OX2 has installed over 50 new fire hydrants and organised fire safety training for nearly 200 local residents.
