Gonvarri Solar Steel will supply 73MWp of its solar trackers for a large-scale agrivoltaic project in Italy.
The project, located in Campagnia, will become the country’s largest advanced agrivoltaic installation under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
Solar Steel said the project will set a new benchmark for dual-use land development in Europe’s renewable transition, by integrating solar energy generation with intensive agricultural activity.
The 1P trackers supplied by Solar Steel have been tailored to meet the site’s unique agrivoltaic requirements. They have been specifically designed to accommodate crop growth, airflow, and agricultural maintenance, the company said.
In addition, the trackers will include dedicated positions to facilitate the passage of farm equipment and ensure full-year crop protection.
Solar Steel said the project reinforces its commitment to delivering next-generation agri-solar solutions.
“This is a pivotal step forward for Solar Steel in the agrivoltaics landscape,” the company’s engineering team said in a statement. “It aligns with our strategy to develop technology that supports both clean energy production and sustainable agriculture.”
Construction of the solar park is set to begin in the coming months. Solar Steel will provide support throughout the entire lifecycle of the project – from manufacturing and logistics to commissioning, monitoring, and long-term service.
