Gonvarri Solar Steel has signed an agreement to supply 472MWdc/396MWac of its 1P solar trackers to Inver Renewable Management, a subsidiary of Enhol Group.
The deal includes the supply of over 6800 trackers for CSF Illa, the largest solar project in Peru and one of the largest in Latin America, located in La Joya, Arequipa.
Solar Steel has been supplying trackers in Peru since 2014.
The company says its latest 1P configuration is a cutting-edge technology that will maximise efficiency and clean energy production.
The CSF Illa solar plant, which is owned by Grupo Enhol, is expected to generate 1.2TWh annually, which represents approximately 2.5% of the country’s total electricity generation.
Solar Steel’s 1P trackers will support more than 740,000 high-power modules, optimising solar capture in one of the highest irradiation regions in the world.
Inver Renewable Management chief executive Ernesto Oliver (pictured right) said: “This agreement marks a major milestone for us, strengthening our commitment to decarbonisation and clean energy generation in a country where we’ve operated for over 17 years.”
Solar Steel chief executive Christopher Atassi (pictured left) added: “At the same time, it’s a key milestone for the country and reinforces the family-driven presence both Enhol and Gonvarri Industries bring to the solar sector.
“We share common values, and it’s rewarding to see them endure over the years.”
Construction of the solar park is already underway and is expected to operate for at least 30 years.
Both companies will also support local communities through corporate social responsibility programmes, with an ambitious plan for social and environmental investment to foster regional development.
The project already holds definitive generation and transmission concessions granted by the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Peru, along with environmental certification, which includes long-term social and environmental commitments.
