Municipal utility Trianel has commissioned its largest solar park.
Solar and storage company Greentech has built the ground-mounted photovoltaic system for the municipal project developer in Wiesenhagen, Brandenburg, south of Berlin.
It is the 19th project that Greentech has delivered on behalf of Trianel in the last two and a half years and has a peak capacity of 70.4MW.
The solar park (pictured) is located on an area of about 48 hectares along the Berlin-Halle railway line.
The system is connected via Trianel’s nearby 110 kV substation, which was also recently built.
Trianel’s head of solar Andreas Lemke said: “This project is a milestone in our development activities because it is the largest contiguous solar park we have realised to date.
“This required precise planning and detailed co-ordination, which was only possible thanks to the great co-operation with Greentech.
“With this park, we have now implemented ground-mounted plants with a total capacity of over 165MWp in Brandenburg and can supply more than 51,000 households with climate-friendly electricity every year.”
